Just breathe.

Thanksgiving was a calm, relaxed, and relatively quiet day. Traveling out to my mother's, the traffic wasn't too bad, as it started to thin out the farther we got away from the city. I'm actually glad she didn't move closer when there was the threat of having to get a new job. Thankfully, the economy is starting to recover, so she should be secure - at least until the next 'scare' - in what she's been doing for years.

I could tell that after meeting Rio she was completely enamored with her. She never had the chance to meet Ginger, and it was probably for the better, because clearly it didn't last. But I will say, it's like dodging bullets on a battlefield, when your mother brings up 'the m-word.' Yes, I said before it was inevitable, but I still wish she'd be patient and let me decide when the time is right. I'm not ready to leave the team, and I doubt my partner is either, and we've got a lifetime should that be something we spend together.

I stopped her before the 'b-word' even left her lips. I was NOT going there.

Oh, I also trained with Castor not too long after Likeya, and it was something easy with the added benefit of witnessing his 'secret ability.' I don't have much to say past that, other than it's impressive when in motion, and hopefully with more guidance from Aria he'll be able to increase his skill.

I should grab Riley and make her train with me so I don't keep feeling so inferior.

I finally made it back t’work on Monday. I’m still feelin’ kinda under the weather n’ stuff but I’m doin’ better. I jus’ hope I can smell by Thursday otherwise Thanksgivin’ is gonna suck. It’s like, one of my favorite times of the year, next t’ Halloween that is, ‘cause ma makes all this wontabulous food n’ I looooove punkin’ pie. LOVE IT. <333

Yeah, I’m goin’ over t’her place this year. Nothin’s been said ‘bout same thing as last year bein’ held at the base and it’s been a while since I seen her n’ my sisters. I asked Aida if he wanted t’come and he said somethin’ ‘bout wantin’ to bring Rio to his ma’s place, and whatever, no big deal. Jus’ means more food for me. Diet? What diet? lol

Man, I’ll be so glad when I can ditch this place n’ get ready t’head out for a long weekend. I was able t’get both days off ‘cause I asked somethin’ like two weeks in advance, but that’s the last of my vacation. Hey, if I gotta work on Christmas, it’s no big deal. I’d probably be spendin’ it at the apartment anyway, sippin’ eggnog n’ eatin’ cookies n’ watchin’ Rudolph with my roomies… though, seein’ as how Jules has been hangin’ ‘round a lot with Som n’ Rob gettin’ shmoozy with Devon, I might be doin’ it by m’self. Hey, I got Stardust. He’s an awesome cuddle buddy. <3

I’ve been so occupied with my travels that I’ve somewhat neglected this journal… but there really isn’t much to share in the way of anything exciting…

My last flight before the holiday season leaves tomorrow… then I will be able to return to the MKC museum on Monday until Wednesday… when Thursday arrives… I have reservations to eat my Thanksgiving meal alone.

…I couldn’t accept the invitation from my family… which surprisingly, came about from out of nowhere… and arriving as I look now… would be too much of a risk at being exposed. …let them keep the pleasant memories they have of me.

In between the presentations… I’ve been doing some personal research on the side. I’ve reviewed what I know… and learned more about demons… including their angelic counterparts. Normally, I wouldn’t even bother… but through experience… and a want to understand… I figure its better I’m prepared should I need to call upon this knowledge in the near future.

I’ve also read up a bit on dragons… they were mostly a solitary creature, magnificent but deadly, that was feared by our ancestors because of their destructive nature… including the ability to summon a flame… but not by way of magic. Instead, it was created by the dragon itself… by way of a biological mechanism located in the beast’s throat…

…I will try to study more at a later time.

Aida complied with my request for help with training. I do not think he has taught many if anyone like me because he initiated the session with a practice called ‘stretching.’ I am not alive. I do not have ‘muscles.’ But I did not question him and did as I was instructed.

He also taught me ‘combat’ with the use of my body rather than a weapon. When it came to the later he could not assist. I tried to make sense of his explanation but my programming would not accept his logic. Why refuse technology? If it is a means of protection why sacrifice yourself with self-defense?

Living organisms are not only confusing but some are just foolish.

I’ve caught the flu an’ I feel like shit. I took the day off from work, an’ maybe the next too, ‘til I can shake this thing.

uhhhh the thing Robz set up was real nice. Right now, it’s hard t’remember everythin’, ‘cause my head is throbbin’. um. The pizza was good. Actually, I think I caught the bug from the guy who like, was coughin’ at the table next t’us. Bastard. Stay the hell home.

Lesse. S’bout it. I heard somethin’ last night but was knocked up by the Nyquil I took that I didn’t bother checkin’ it out. Was probably nothin’.

That blue robot girl that hangs around the base came up to me one day and asked if I’d teach her how to train. For starters, I didn’t know she could talk, or that she even had a name. But obviously she was intelligent enough to communicate, and she asked so nicely, how could I refuse? Well, I could have, but I wasn’t doing anything else.

It was a little bit awkward to help her get dressed. She told me she wants to be able to do it herself, and hopes to practice with the clothing she has, which she said was a dress and her uniform. Knowing she had the later was a surprise. I guess she’s now a member of the team?

And training, at first, wasn’t exactly what I expected. When I asked her to do something simple, like stretching, she could only give a definition of the act. It wasn’t until AFTER I showed her she was able to do it. But I will say, she’s a quick learner, and in a matter of minutes was copying every move exactly – even the more advanced stages of hand-to-hand combat.

Later she asked if there would be any reason for her to use her ‘weapons.’ I wasn’t really sure what she meant, though after removing her arms, made it clear that she wasn’t entirely defenseless. Sadly, that’s where the lesson ended. I don’t think she understood why even after I tried to explain; then again, not everyone can in this advanced technological age. Especially a machine designed to be a ‘living weapon.’

Belladonna requested my presence at her studio yesterday. After I arrived she presented what I remembered to be my uniform. She helped me into it because I am still trying to understand how to wear clothing though it wasn’t too hard a task to complete. Perhaps practicing on my own with my uniform and my dress will make it even easier.

She said I looked ‘cute.’ Am I required to look ‘cute’ in a uniform? I asked Belladonna and she said it depended on the individual. Someone could also look ‘hot.’ I asked if this meant a rise in their internal temperature and she laughed. ‘Hot’ also means ‘very good or impressive.’ I told her it can also mean ‘sexually excited or exciting’ and again she laughed. Is this what they call ‘humor?’

Belladonna then said it would be a good idea if I started training. I asked if she would help me and she directed me to the other members of the team.

I would ask Jasper but I remain adamant about obeying his ‘personal boundaries.’ I have not seen Tran, nor have I seen Ms. Verdelle, or anyone else I have logged into my database.

…I just saw the grey tom. I will ask him.

When I went t’Nate ‘bout her he was all like ‘who? :DD’ and yeah, I probably should’a ‘spected that, and after I tried to explain WHO he’s like, ‘cookies? :DD’ and omgz I just walked away. Some dudes’r so, like, DUH. I mean, I really like Nate, but MAN.

And yes, you DID need the arm twistin’. Didn’t want me noogie’in your noggin, huh? Oh yeah, and I took Raoul’s advice so I’ll be sleepin’ under the desk in his office from now on. I already got m’self a little set up complete with throw pillows. THANKS PAL.

I’m glad Halloween is over. I think I’ve seen enough skin to last me a lifetime. I remember watching something on television a few nights ago that mentioned costumes have gradually been made to be more revealing over the years. They were right.

Riley’s wasn’t so bad though looked similar to what she wore last year. I asked why she didn’t wear jeans under the chaps like you’re supposed to and her answer was, ‘at least I wore clean underwear.’ Yes, thank you.

Her friend Julie was someone named ‘Morrigan’ from a game called ‘Darkstalkers.’ I’m still trying to understand just how the character is supposed to fight in a neckline that plunges to her navel. At least I was able to recognize what Robyn was dressed as, and I have to say, I was impressed. Though, if I had any say in the matter, I would have directed her towards the variant from the graphic novel, ‘Kingdom Come.’ Or even better, the armor Wonder Woman wore, because it would have guaranteed her first place in the contest.

Yeah, I could have made that. There’s always next year.

I also finally got an answer out of Riley. What she spilled was around what I guessed was wrong, and after giving her some direction, can only hope she listens for the sake of the relationship she’s in right now. Baggage IS a hard thing to let go of, and I don’t think she ever really had closure with Maven or Al - despite whatever she told herself - that she’s had a difficult time controlling her feelings. Anyway, I’ve said what I can. Now it’s up to her.

That includes Aria, too. She had been the one I was assigned to patrol with, and once the creature we tangled with was laid to rest after a boot to the head, we came back to the base where I questioned her current mood. Understandably, she was hesitant at first, but eventually went on to tell me about someone named ‘Aaralyn.’ Once a member of the team, she was used to create tension between two sides and clearly her opposition to re-join, or even settle their differences, is causing Aria unnecessary grief. It hasn’t helped matters either that the team has slowly been dissolving with members that are leaving.

All of this, and probably more, is making her question not only what she believes in but herself. Honestly, she’s always had pretty big shoes to fill, so I suggested searching out a second in command. If she chooses this option hopefully her decision is a wise and well thought-out one.

I did not go to the parade. No one said ‘yes’ to my request for an escort. And I have this feeling… it is called sadness. I do not like it.

Bentora also was not able to participate. Something unforeseen came up and her project has been abandoned. While she was away I took a look and found some kind of mechanical contraption that was unrecognizable. After doing a search I was able to digitally arrange the remaining pieces together and complete the image. It is a replication of the power loader from the movie ‘Aliens.’

I then viewed footage of this film and associated their reactions to the creatures called ‘xenomorphs’ as ‘fear.’ Is this the way I should react to Kitten? I will be sure to have both expression and emotion co-operate next time.

I learned something new from Jasper. It is called ‘personal boundaries.’ I had to collect information on each word separately to understand what he meant; ‘personal’ means ‘of or relating to a particular person’ and ‘boundaries’ means ‘something that indicates a border or limit.’

Jasper has a border or limit relating to him. …I am still a bit confused even after his explanation. Is it a line I physically cannot cross? What would happen if I did? Does it only apply to Jasper? Why has no one else said they have ‘personal boundaries?’

Once again I have questions without answers. But I will not go back to him for them. He has his ‘personal boundaries.’

So yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah Saturday was as awesome as I ‘spected it t’be. I bagged m’self some candy, made the parade and entered m’self in the contest as ‘DA BOSS,’ n’ caught most’a Mal’s show where he juggled chainsaws OMGZ it was crazy. There were other acts, too, like Apollo doin’ this crazy shit n’ the air an’ a chick they called ‘the dragon woman’ that wore a top that looked like hoops you’d practice gymnastics off’a. I SWEAR. The hibernation… that slowly takes over my body in the cooler seasons… hasn’t come on as strong as last year around this time… so I was able to enjoy longer the gathering of residents for the annual Halloween parade. There was quite a turn out this year… and the costumes… such variety… everything from commercialized icons… to the more common themes… such as princesses, cowboys, and… angels.

One ‘angel’ in particular… walked with a priest in tow… and they acted out their roles poorly if not… in an extremely offensive manner. It didn’t take long for me to recognize the pair… and then it made sense. I would think Kyle knew what an ‘oxymoron’ was… but the girl… not likely…

I’m sure I was seen when I took the stairs to the stage… I participated in the contest just for fun… as the woman I saw in that movie not too long ago. She had several variations… but the one I decided on… I liked the best. I hadn’t come to feed off the stares, whistles, and jeers of others... honestly, the majority was children, and despite my reputation I DO acknowledge their innocence…

…something of interest I wish to investigate further… I overheard a group of teenagers… who apparently practiced satanic rituals in the graveyard… that there was a sighting… of a dragon. Surely, it was with the use of some kind of prop or digital imaging, but no… they swore it existed… and it was dueling with a female that had powers that sounded much like the demons I know.

At this point… I wouldn’t be surprised if one day I saw a winged unicorn soaring through the sky… and it would be silly to say it’s ridiculous… because I’m included in these oddities.

…but I do have some good news… though Dr. Viper wasn’t too happy with my lack of obedience when asked to re-capture that beast… he finally found it beaten to death in an abandoned building. Later, when the remains were brought back to his lab, after running a DNA test… the results were inconclusive… apparently he didn’t have access to records that matched the identity of the assailants.

Either way… I remain superior.

I've just been in such a slump lately. Like, all I've been doin' it goin' to work and comin' home to my room n' watchin' horror movies on my laptop. Man, I will forever dig the Alien quadrilogy. AND I LIKED RESURRECTION, TOO.

Speakin' of that I named my tank BISHOP. <3 An' I cannot WAIT 'til BenBen takes me out and I can let 'im rip into some targets. I was gonna go ask 'er the other day when we were goin' and she just 'bout crapped her lil' overalls when I walked in on 'er in the lab. I was like 'OMGZ ANOTHER BISHOP??!' and she was like 'lololol no something better!' and I'm like, 'wtf is better than TWO BISHOPS??!' but I guess I gotta wait 'til Halloween t'find out. CANNOT SEE THROUGH SHEET.

That weird blue robot thing is still hangin' 'round down there. I 'member when she tried to touch BISHOP and I almost broke that lil' plastic arm of 'ers off. OFF LIMITZ TO EVERYONE. 'Cept BenBen 'cause she made 'im. <33 ANYWAY. I threatened Jay with a circular saw 'less he came to the parade 'til I 'membered his energy gun and I ran LOLOLOLOLOL.

I decided on calling him BISHOP. Yes, it's from where you think it is, since Riley's name was inspired by Lt. Ripley. xD ISN'T HE CUUUUUTE? Man, I should of stocked him like the M1 Abrams. Two cannons and like three machine guns. If I had 4.35 million laying around I'd SO jump on that. lol

Anyway, to everyone, Kitten's bio's been updated. :D
